Open the Frigidaire refrigerator door to access the fresh-food and freezer compartment controls. Turn the controls to the “Off” position or to zero. Unplug the appliance power cord.

Transfer any items stored in the door bins to the fresh-food compartment shelves. Remove any detachable door bins. Shut the refrigerator door.

Look at the top of the refrigerator for a hinge cap. The cap hides the hinge and is secured to the refrigerator with a single screw. Remove the screw and lift the hinge cap off the hinge.

Attach a 3/8-inch socket to a socket wrench. Fit the socket over the bolt heads on the hinge. Remove the two 3/8-inch bolts securing the hinge to the top of the refrigerator. Pull the hinge from the top of the refrigerator door.

Grab the hinge side of the refrigerator door and the door handle. Swing the door open about six or eight inches. Lift the door up off the bottom hinge. Lay the door face down on a stable work surface.

Look along the bottom of the refrigerator door for the plastic bearing. It inserts into the hinge pin opening on the bottom of the door. Find the three small slots in the top of the bearing where it rests against the bottom of the door. Insert a small flat-blade screwdriver into the small slots. Twist the screwdriver to pry the bearing from the refrigerator door.

Slide a new bearing into the hinge opening in the bottom of the door. Use your fingers to push the top of the hinge against the bottom of the door.

Lift the repaired refrigerator door off the work surface and slide it back onto the bottom hinge. Shut the refrigerator door.

Reinsert the top hinge into the hinge opening in the top of the door. Secure the hinge to the top of the Frigidaire refrigerator with the 3/8-inch bolts your removed earlier. Replace the hinge cap and secure it with the cap screw.

Reinstall any detachable door bins. Transfer your items from the shelves and back into the door bins.
